Brandy Williams

Brandy grew up playing sports and her love of fitness evolved from the sports she played. She played soccer and basketball at the University of New Brunswick (UNBSJ) where she received an Academic All-Canadian award and was the Academic Athlete of the Year in her final year. One of her biggest highlights in athletics was winning the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) championships on home court at UNBSJ.

Her team travelled to Calgary to play Nationals where her father, who lived away, came to watch her play for the first time. Shortly after, her father passed away from a heart attack at the age of 49 and she decided to take a year off.

She was an assistant coach of the women’s basketball team at UNBSJ during that time while deciding what career path to take. She decided to enter the field of health and nutrition; her father’s passing fueling her with the desire to help other people improve their health. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, and played her fifth and final year of basketball there.

Upon graduation, she decided to become a personal trainer to acquire additional skills to assist people in improving their health. She worked at Afterburn Performance for 2 years to gain experience in the fitness industry doing 1-on-1 personal training and teaching group classes. She decided to work at Simply For Life so she could focus more on helping people with their nutrition and lifestyle goals and has been there for almost 4 years.

She recently attended Boxing Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) apprentice coach workshop designed to help coaches assist boxers on basic technique and tactical principle’s that every beginner boxer should learn and master. She is excited for the opportunity to work at HIIT30KV with other coaches passionate about helping others get healthier. HIIT30 resonated with her because it is an environment that not only motivates, but also empowers individuals to continually challenge themselves in a fun and rewarding way!
